Fightin' Side of Me

I hear people talkin' bad,
About the way we have to live here in this country,
Harpin' on the wars we fight,
An' gripin' 'bout the way things oughta be.
An' I don't mind 'em switchin' sides,
An' standin' up for things they believe in.
When they're runnin' down my country, man, They're walkin' on the fightin' side of me. Yeah, walkin' on the fightin' side of me, Runnin' down the way of life,
Our fightin' men have fought and died to keep..
If you don't love it, leave it:
Let this song I'm singin' be a warnin'
If you're runnin' down my country, man,
You're walkin' on the fightin' side of me..

I read about some squirrely guy,
Who claims, he just don't believe in fightin'.
An' I wonder just how long,
The rest of us can count on bein' free.

They love our milk an' honey,
But they preach about some other way of livin'.When they're runnin' down my country, hoss,
They're walkin' on the fightin' side of me.

Yeah, walkin' on the fightin' side of me.
Runnin' down the way of life,
Our fightin' men have fought and died to keep.
If you don't love it, leave it:
Let this song I'm singin' be a warnin'.If you're runnin' down my country, man,
You're walkin' on the fightin' side of me.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Two of my favorite Irish actors (no not John Wayne) Maureen O'Hara and Victor McLaglen.

Together in Rio Grande, Mr. McLaglen playing my favorite character of his,
Sgt. Maj. Quincannon

Ladies first, Maureen is about as Irish as they come. She was born Maureen FitzSimons
August 17, 1920 in Ranelagh, County Dublin, Ireland. She'll be 91 this year :)

Well, I just read something about Mclaglen, He's NOT Irish! But he played Irishmen in most of his movies:).He was born Victor Andrew de Bier Everleigh McLaglen December 10, 1886 in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England, UK.
How 'bout that for a name??

How to pronounced Mclaglen: Muh-clog-len, not Mack-loff-len(which I've been doing most my life:).

And a song, just finish off the day.

Just a couple more of Maureen in color to show off her hair.

~ What a Day That Shall Be ~

There is coming a day when no heartaches shall come
No more clouds in the sky, no more tears to dim the eye.
All is peace forevermore on that happy golden shore,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

Chorus
What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see,
And I look upon His face,
The One who saved me by His grace;
When He takes me by the hand
And leads me through the Promised Land,
What a day, glorious day that will be.
There'll be no sorrow there, no more burdens to bear,
No more sickness, no pain, no more parting over there;
And forever I will be with the One who died for me,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

Chorus
What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see,
And I look upon His face,
The One who saved me by His grace;
When He takes me by the hand
And leads me through the Promised Land,
What a day, glorious day that will be.
What a day, glorious day that will be!

In Memory of Deputy John David Norsworthy

The Solid Rock

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.

Refrain:
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.

When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.

His oath, His covenant, His blood
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.

When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
Dressed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.

I'm thinking of the Norsworthy family right now, and praying that they know the Solid Rock (Jesus!!) and are leaning on Him.

They will lay John to rest tomorrow, what a hard day for all those who knew him.
I did not know this man but I am so grateful to him for his service to our community.
My heart aches for the family.

Deputy John Norsworthy..

..He is a Sheep Dog who was injured while on duty and is in the hospital. He and his family need our prayers. But I do think that they may know the Lord as their Saviour. His sister mentions this song in a resent post on the blog about Deputy Norsworthy (Link: http://www.jd3006.blogspot.com/ you can read about it here), so I looked it up and thought I'd share it (Of course I chose an oldies version :).

You'll just have to ignore the talking, I couldn't find this version without :)
